MEET ALBY ALMAREZ

Alby started doing CrossFit at CFP in September 2012.

” I had been very curious about CrossFit and had a friend back home who was constantly telling me to give it a shot, so one day after work I decided to stop by and see what it was all about and after my first few WOD’s (despite the fact that I was so sore I could barley move) I was hooked.”

“I feel like each WOD I complete I am accomplishing something new and setting new personal goals for myself.

“What I love the most about CrossFit are the moments when I feel like I don’t have anything left and I’m completely gassed but the motivation from my fellow athletes/coaches encouraging me helps me find the strength to complete that last rep!”

“I hate Hang Power Snatches and anytime I don’t have an RX besides my name after any WOD. (I think a lot of CrossFit athletes can feel you on this Alby!)

Alby is originally from Dixon, CA and has lived in Auburn since May 2010. He has been in the Air Force for 12 years and is currently the NCOIC of Career Development at AFROTC Det 015/Tuskegee University where he oversees cadet life-cycle personnel actions ranging from medical, physical, enlistments, categorizations and commissioning.

“I have been married for almost 3 years now to my best friend/fellow athlete Annie.”
